Consumer Reports covers energy efficiencySeptember 24, 2010
The October 2010 issue of Consumer Reports reviews the state of energy efficiency in the U.S. and gives recommendations to bring it to the next level. They also review top CFL lightbulbs, water heaters, and space heaters. I was talking to some friends over dinner this week and we were discussing how the recession, though difficult for many, may have been the best thing that could have happened to help reduce carbon emissions in the race against global warming. This article grounds that sentiment, stating the U.S. per capita energy use is the lowest in 41 years, which is sadly still double that of our friends across the pond in Europe.
The link takes you to the intro to the feature, if you want to get deeper into the information, you can click on the links on the ‘In this report’ box on the light. I’m happy to see one of our standard issue bulbs, the FEIT 13W CFL as a high scoring model in its category, recommended by Consumer Reports.
Enjoy, and may your light always shine bright… and efficient.
